Obituary

Following a very brief battle with cancer, Kathy passed away peacefully on December 12th, at the age of 74, with her family by her side.

Kathy was born and raised in Toronto. She worked with Bell Canada for over 30 years in wide variety of roles where she developed strong relationships and lifelong friends.  After a brief retirement, she went to work with TD Bank for 14 years, and then to Home Instead where she supported seniors in their later years.  She didn't stop there! Kathy then went on to invest her time giving back to the community while volunteering with Compass Food Bank Outreach Centre.

When Kathy wasn't working, she became a "world-traveler", spending hours on the water fishing with George, travelling Europe, with Paris, France holding a very special place in her heart. There, she would sit in a sidewalk café sipping a latte while nibbling on a delicious pastry and watch the world go by. She also enjoyed a fine Scotch whisky, while travelling to various distilleries in Scotland to see the craft in person. Her love of family was vast, including vacations and countless hours with her beloved grandchildren Mac and Victoria (affectionately known as Bird) or cheering her daughter Christy on at early morning races. Kathy also had many friends all over Canada, who will dearly miss her.

We would like to acknowledge the medical staff at Mississauga Trillium Hospital and the Neurology/Palliative staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for the excellent care and support they provided to Kathy and her family throughout her illness. Kathy was predeceased by her first husband Marvin McCoy, her second husband, George, and her brother Victor (Marnie), and is survived by her daughter Christy (Mike), grandchildren (Mackenzie and Victoria), and siblings Irene (Doug) Power, Victoria (Mark) Taylor, and Helen (Bruce) Reynolds. She was also a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
