Obituary

June Phyllis Fairholm passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10th, 2025, in her 93rd year of life.

It brings us tremendous comfort to know that, after nearly 16 years apart, June is forever reunited with her best friend and husband of 56 years, Ron Fairholm.

After meeting as teenagers in their hometown of Montreal, June and "Ronnie" experienced a wonderful marriage together. From Beaconsfield to Brome Lake and dozens of stops along the way, they built a life that left no regrets behind.

At the heart of that life were their two children, Terry (Diana) and Don (Debbie), and their six grandsons (Adam, Mark, Derek, Bryan, Sean, and Curt) and five great-grandchildren (Wesley, Ida, Emilie, Charlie, and Isabella) who followed.

As a mother, June delighted in raising two boys who played hockey at the University of Notre Dame before becoming loving fathers and successful businessmen, just as Ron had been. She took particular pride in how her children worked together at Advancement Partners after Ron passed away in 2009.

From hockey rinks to piano recitals to golf courses and beyond, June also relished being "Nana" to her 11 grandchildren. She even had the joy of meeting her great-grandchildren, two of whom are named in her honor.

She also shared a special relationship with her sister, Patty, who passed away in 2011.

June and Ron's circle of kin stretched endlessly beyond that core, including countless extended relatives and friends.

To June, they were all simply considered family, regardless of last name.

One of her lines she liked to say about her family was, "We don't just love each other, but we like each other, too."

Fittingly, it was impossible to find anyone who didn't like June.

A selfless optimist who could light up any room with her smile, June devoted herself to making other people happy because that is what made her happy.

She will be remembered for her tight-squeezing hugs, classy sense of style, extensive collection of family photos and letters, an indelible laugh nobody can forget, and, of course, her enthusiasm for happy hour, which kept her seeing life as "the wine glass half full."

Most of all, we will miss the way she made us feel, which is deeply loved. We will honor her by keeping June's spirit of generosity alive for generations to come.

We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Credit River Retirement Residence in Mississauga and all the support staff that helped June throughout the past few years.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, April 18th, at 2 pm at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home at 64 Lakeshore Road West in Oakville, Ontario.
