Julie Anne Dennis (nee Doyle)

With the heaviest of hearts, the family of Julie Anne Dennis (nee Doyle) announces her passing, peacefully and with her loving family by her side, on January 5th, 2024, in her 70th year.

Julie was born in Toronto on July 5th, 1954, the daughter of Marion and Harry Doyle. She arrived as the middle of 5 children, Tom, Marilyn (Eric), Janice (Wayne) and Robert (Sandra). She is predeceased by her parents and her older brother Tom, her mother in-law Grace Dennis, her father in-law Bill Dennis, and her brother in-law Mark Dennis. Julie grew up surrounded by Doyle, Brown and Chadwick cousins, which fostered her warm sense of family and inclusion from a young age. In 1977, Julie married Mike, who was the love of her life, and joined the Dennis family, immediately gaining 8 new siblings. Julie and Mike went on to build a beautiful life over a 46 year marriage, and will be forever missed by Mike, her children Sean and Jennifer, her beloved grandchildren Charlie and Teddy, and their mother, Kelly Millar.

Julie has long been known for her infectious positivity, warmth, passion for family & friends, yoga, and the Toronto Raptors. She leaves behind many beloved sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends around the world. Julie's energy made an immediate, and lasting impact on everyone she met, often striking up conversations with complete strangers that inevitably ended in smiles and laughter, once engaging in a spontaneous yoga session in the streets of New York City alongside an NYPD officer. In recent years, Julie and Mike have traveled extensively, enjoying seeing new parts of the world, and then returning to their "villages" of family, friends, and friends who felt like family, in Oakville and in recent years, Florida.

Julie fought her battle with bravery, grace, dignity, and inspiration for all of us, and recently said "Live every day as you want to, and then you won't have any regrets".  Everyone who loves Julie, is forever grateful for the valuable care provided by the teams at St. Michael's Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

The Dennis Family would ask that you honour Julie's memory by a) living your lives as she did, with warmth, kindness, gratitude, inclusion and positivity, and b) considering a donation to the Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children , or the Oakville Fare Share Food Bank , organizations that were both very close to Julie's heart.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10th at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville, ON, (one block East of Kerr Street) from 2-4pm, and 7-9pm.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church (47 Reynolds St, Oakville, ON) on Thursday, January 11th at 10:30am. This will be immediately followed by an internment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery and reception at the Oakville Club (56 Water St, Oakville, ON), from 12pm.
