Obituary

Julia M. Skupin (Ginovsky)
September 15, 1933 to October 18, 2025

Julie passed away peacefully with family by her side October 18 2025 in Credit Valley Hospital at the age of 91. Julie was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, with her twin sister Irene. They had a dog, Tootsie, that she adored. She worked at Ford Motor Company after high school, married in 1955, and moved to Oakville in 1959. In the early years she enjoyed golfing, bridge, attending family weddings, and the many neighbourhood parties on Willis Drive and Willowridge Court. When the kids were all in school she went back to work as a real estate agent, security guard(!), and grocery store demonstrator. Later in life she was able to travel to California, the UK, Mexico, Slovakia, and Bosnia. Julie will be remembered for her humour, cabbage rolls, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.

She was predeceased by her husband Harvey and twin sister Irene Kvitkovic. Beloved mother of Laura Skupin, Brian (Kate) Skupin, and Barry Skupin, grandchildren Pamela (Gregory) Kapasek, James (Kate) Cole, and Michael Skupin, and great grandsons Logan Kapasek and Miles Kapasek. John Kvitkovic and Lucy (Mike) Little, the children of her sister Irene, had a special place in her heart and they will miss her deeply. She will be remembered by many other nieces and nephews.

A Memorial mass will be held at St. James Church, 231 Morden Road, Oakville, November 15 at 11:00 AM, with reception to follow at 12:00, Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville.
