Morrow

Starts at 12:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Julia Margaret Morrow (nee Kelly), who passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on October 13, 2026 in her home in Oakville, surrounded by her family.
Julia was born on May 9, 1955 in County Down, Northern Ireland. She grew up with her parents Tom and Enid Kelly and sister Barbra. She was a keen horse rider and excelled both academically and on the sports field at Down High School. She undertook an Arts degree at Queen’s University Belfast and fell in love with her husband Robert at age 20. After graduation, she undertook teacher training before deciding to fulfill her passion to become a nurse. She won the gold medal as the top graduate in her year and served in the Royal Victoria Hospital emergency department at the height of The Troubles. As talented as she was a student, her compassion, empathy, and humanity were her defining strengths as a nurse. These qualities would also define her as a wife, mother, and friend.
She married Robert in 1981 and had three sons, Richard, Christopher, and Peter, and immigrated to Canada in 1990. She was a proud and selfless parent. Her playful attitude and terrific sense of humour lifted the spirits of everyone around her.
She loved to spend time at the family cottage on Georgian Bay, swimming, reading, nature watching, and playing with her family and dogs Jenny and Teddy.
Over the years, she cherished many adventures, including trips to India, Tanzania, Europe, South America, China and Tibet, Australia, and New Zealand.
We are eternally grateful to the many people who supported Julia and the family during her journey through Alzheimer’s disease, particularly the incredible staff at Patty’s Place in Oakville.
A celebration of life and reception will occur at 12pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville.
For Northern Irish family and friends, a celebration of life in Northern Ireland will follow in the coming weeks.
If desired, donations can be made to Patty’s Place Dementia Care Centre.
