Joyce Aletia Cutler

March 29, 1933 – August 9, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce that Joyce Aletia Cutler, 91, of Oakville, passed away on August 9th after a 2-year battle with Cancer.

Joyce was born on March 29th, 1933 in Eaton Township, Quebec. In her life, Joyce was married twice. Her first husband, Joseph Heeney with whom she had 5 children with. Joseph Heeney passed away in 2001. Her second husband, Murray Ross Cutler passed away in 2008. Her 5 children, William John (Cathy), Michael David (d)., Daniel Patrick (d)., Carole Anne (d) (Arthur), Kathleen Lynne (Ivan). Joyce was a grandmother to eight children and great grandmother to 9 children. Joyce is survived by her beloved sister Gail Elizabeth Anne Moser.

After 35 years as a teacher for the Catholic School Board, Joyce retired. She maintained lifelong friendships and was a member of the Retired Teachers of Ontario. Joyce loved to travel and saw much of the world.

Joyce with her second husband Murray were 2 of the 4 founders of the Newspaper Old Autos and would be seen at many of the car shows with her daughter and granddaughters.

Joyce had a lifelong passion for genealogy and was Governor of the Canadian Mayflower Society for several years. She and brother Ivan (Rogers) accomplished a very complete family lineage, tracing back to the descendants of the Mayflower in 1620.

Joyce was a talented artist and much of her work could be seen displaying in her home in Oakville.

Joyce will be greatly missed by family and friends.
