Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on her 91st Birthday. Ivy immigrated to Canada in 1952 from England with four children, and later four more children were born. Ivy was the wife of Ronald George who predeceased her in 1979. She leaves behind her children, David (Sandy), Hilary, Richard, Ian (Penny), Carol Bench, Roberta (Bobbie) Modesto (Jim). Mom was predeceased by her daughters Josephine, and daughter Angela (Harvey) Smith, son-in-law Donald Leroux, and daughter-in-law Edith Deeks. Mom's greatest legacy is her family and she leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Her only nephew in Canada, Kenneth (Margaret) Carter. Mom was a "Yorkshire Girl" and always had tales of her days at home with her family. She is predeceased by her parents, Percy and Georgiana Baines, brothers George, Pearson, Stanley, Derek, her sisters Ena, Melinda, and Doris. Mom leaves behind many nieces and nephews in England. Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Oakville Senior Citizens Residence for the wonderful care and compassion they showed to our mother, and our family. Thank you to the Halton EMS team, Paramedics, Firemen, and the Halton Regional Police. Visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place 11am on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Church of the Epiphany, 141 Bronte Rd., Oakville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
