On the morning of Sunday July 6th, as the sun was dawning on a new day, our dear Joe passed peacefully into God's loving arms. Left to mourn his loss is his beloved wife and best friend, Doris; his nieces & nephews: Katherine (Dave), Evelyn (Graham), Clare, Clyde (Amanda), Sharon, Tanya, Giselle, and Sebastian; as well as his many great nieces and nephews. Joe is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, Leonard & Catherine; his sister, Mary; and his nephew Leonard. Born in Birzebbuga, Malta, Joe embarked on a new life in Canada as a young man and came to love both 'homes' in equal measure. Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - fishing, camping, and cheering on his beloved Toronto Blue Jays. Above all, his greatest love was always his family, especially Doris, whom he adored. Joe's legacy is one of love and laughter - a reflection of the deep affection he showed his family and the joy that always followed him wherever he went.
Visitation in celebration of Joe's life will be held, on what would have been his 90th birthday, Thursday July 10th at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home (Oakville), 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm. Parish prayers at 2:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 11th at St. Matthew Parish (Oakville) at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery (Mississauga). In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Kidney Foundation or Canadian Diabetic Foundation in Joe's honour are appreciated.
