It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a
dear husband, father and friend on Sunday, December 15, 2013
in Oakville, Ontario in his 93rd year. Born June 12, 1921 in Mosta, Malta, he was a man of kindness, patience and dignity. Even through his final years, he never complained and thought more of others than himself. We will remember him for his wry smile, his zest for life, and his incredible energy. Whether selling parsley door-to-door, making cabinets or building homes, he was always hard-working and passionate. He was a Royal Engineer and a veteran of the Battle of Malta. He was the very devoted husband of Mary Bonnici for 63 years and the much loved father to Albert (Shelley), Joseph, Anthony, MaryAnne, John (Gabrielle Baldazzi) and Tracy Rivers (John). Amazing Nannu to Stacey (Andréa), John (Raelene), Carrie (Joshua); Christopher (Stephanie), Sarah and Jenna Gardiner; John David, Olivia; Nathan and Luke Quennell, and Dylan. Great-grandfather to Ashton, Matteo, Chloe, Oliver and Aurora. A man of quiet faith, he will be joining his Lord, his parents, Anthony and Marianna, and seven younger siblings. Visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday. Funeral mass 10:00 am Thursday December 19, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church, 231 Morden Road, Oakville. Interment St. Jude's Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions to Canadian Food for Children, Good Shepherd (Hamilton) or Poverello Charities would be appreciated.
