Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Moreira announces his passing on February 1st, 2020 at the age of 50. John's warrior-like battle with the enemy known as cancer, was courageous and tenacious - he was a true fighter until the end. John was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Lynn Moreira (nee Baillargeon) and father to his two young sons Mason & Aiden. He is predeceased by his father Antonio Moreira and is survived by his mother Veneranda, brother Tony, sister Suzy, Father in law Marcel and Mother in law Diane, sister-in-laws Kirby & Liette, brother in-law Chris, nieces Donata, Mary, Kelsey, Kammie, nephew JJ and by numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. John (a.k.a. KGB) will forever be remembered amongst his "Posse" - Mario, Rob, Troy & Tyrone and for his 30+years of dedication to his other family at the Toronto Police Service - a brotherhood unlike any other of its kind whose continual support did not go unnoticed. The family would like to share their overwhelming gratitude to the countless people involved in John's care over the years - Dr Butler, Dr Razak and Sarah Boross-Harmer from Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr Benjamin (the best palliative care doctor one could ask for), the nurses at Acclaim Health - especially Chris -who went beyond his duty to help John, and last but not least - the nurses and sta ff at Ian Anderson House - who provided round the clock compassionate care and support. Visitations will take place on Wednesday, February 5th from 2-4pm and 6-9pm at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd West, Oakville.
