IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Dawson
Mcgillivray
January 20, 1938 – August 11, 2024
Young John McGillivray
I suppose you weren't invincible
Guess you were human too
Even though I grew up thinking
That magic lived in you
You filled my life with wonder, laughter,
love, security
You taught by demonstrating how to
Live with integrity
To me you were the fastest, smartest
As well as most handsome
A man of the highest character
Class act if there was one
And it could be because you're my Dad
But others say the same
You'll be missed by every one of us
Too many folk to name
From Daisy, Dawson and Donovan
Karen, Chico, Dwayne and Dale
Peter, May and the McGillivrays
Dan's kids and Ann's as well
Helen, Joseph, Lorna and Sheryl
Extended family
Have shared their admiration of you
Among their sympathies
And friends that we haven't seen in years
Have shared their memories
The mark you made will live on for years
Inside Susanne and me
Goodbye to the legend, the colonel
Young John McGillivray
And thanks for all that you and Mom did
Before your next journey
