It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of John Kidston (JK), at the age of 89 years, on August 25, 2026 in Milton, Ontario.
John was born on April 9, 1937 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria May, his sons John Ralph Everett and Paul Douglas, his grandchildren, Joy, Benjamin, Hans and Sebastian. John is also survived by his brother Arthur (Lola May) and sisters Lillian and Janet. He is predeceased by his son David Andrew Gibson and parents Jacquaima and John Kidston.
He will be remembered fondly by his brother, sisters in law and many nephew and nieces.
John loved the outdoors and all things hunting. He was involved in many volunteer activities and with his big bass voice, he sang with the Halton Regional Police Chorus.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 12, 2026 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) from 1 pm - 3 pm. A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3 pm with a reception in the Kopriva Lounge.
Interment to follow in Halifax, Nova Scotia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Canadian Wildlife Federation or the Halton Regional Police Chorus would be appreciated.
