Peacefully, at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on Friday, April 27, 2007. John left school at age 12 to support his family during the depression. He enlisted in 1939 and served with the RCAF in Egypt. After the war, he returned to school and graduated in Engineering 'McGill '51'. His final project as Canron's Chief Engineer was in Kenya for their state railroad. John will be sadly missed by Gladys (nee Elhatton) his wife and soulmate of 53 years. Lovingly remembered by daughter Leslie (Tony Gunnewiek) and son John (Kerrin). Poppi will be missed by Claire, Amanda, Alex, Kristen, Meaghan, and Evan. John loved to golf - shooting his age and getting a hole in one when he was 80! Service of Remembrance on Sunday, April 29,2007 at 2pm at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville.
