It is with heavy hearts and loving memories that we celebrate the life of John David Bulleid, who passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 70.
John lived with a love for family, a curiosity about the world, and a passion for the things that brought him joy. John is survived by his wife, Kapi, and his siblings Jackie Smith (Randy), Suzanne Hess (Jorge) and Michael Bulleid (Kim).
Love for family shaped John’s life as he supported and cheered on his nephews and nieces. He will be remembered by Christopher (Ashliegh), Sarah (Justin), Kailyn (Andrew), Alex, Zack, Morgan, Emilee and Jamie. He also cherished his great nephews and nieces and enjoyed watching them grow up. John’s family extended into England where he fostered and cherished relationships with his cousins, uncles, aunts and a step grandmother, Gisela.
A lover of travel and adventure, John enjoyed discovering different cultures and experiencing the many ways people live around the world. His curiosity and appreciation for new places, food and meeting people, made exploring the world one of his great pleasures.
John also had a deep enthusiasm for sports. Whether following a game or cheering on his favourite teams, sports were a special part of his life. He proudly supported the Montreal Canadiens, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed golfing, a pastime that brought him enjoyment and opportunities to travel and to spend time with his coworkers, friends and family.
Despite suffering a double stroke 10 years ago, John continued to find strength to recognize simple joys in life and an appreciation for his healthcare workers, neighbours and others afflicted by disability. He was grateful for all the assistance and support that was provided to bring purpose and meaning to his life.
As we remember John, we celebrate not only the years he lived, but also the interests he pursued, the places he discovered, and the relationships he treasured. His life leaves behind memories that will continue to be held close by those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of John's life will be held at later date. If desired, memorial contributions to The Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated.
