Passed suddenly at Credit Valley Hospital on December 1, 2010 at age 82. She will be greatly missed by daughter Barbara Foster of Toronto and son Stephen, wife Barbara (nee Wickware) and grandsons Michael and Daniel of Oakville. Joan is survived by her sister Andrea Brennen of Georgetown and many nephews and nieces. She enjoyed a longtime career with Cassels Blaikie & Co (now Scotia Capital). She was a resident at Thistletown Lutheran Lodge, Etobicoke until 2009. After suffering a stroke, she moved to Erin Mills Lodge, Mississauga where she was popular with residents and staff. An avid golfer, Joan lived a full life and was a spirited fighter to the end. A memorial service will be held at Maple Grove United Church, 346 Maple Grove Drive, Oakville, ON L6J 4V5 on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2 pm.
