Joan died peacefully at West Oak Village Long Term Care Centre in Oakville on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Joan leaves behind her loving husband Terry; children, Mark, Michelle (Theron) and Maria (James); grandchildren Jacob, Nicola, Oliver and Shane; siblings Monica, Richard and Beverley. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 1150 Monk's Passage, Oakville (Corner of Nottinghill Gate and Monk's Passage); reception to follow. The family is most grateful to all the dedicated staff at West Oak Village Long Term Care Centre, in particular the Harbour House wing, for the compassionate care and kindness extended to Joan. The spiritual support accorded Joan by Father Mark Gatto and his Saint Matthew's pastoral team as well as the Rev. Alan Cook and his trusted guitar, was also very much appreciated. The Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton was most helpful and supportive and if desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to them in Joan's memory.
