With sadness we announce the passing of Joan Kathleen Jeffery in her 91st year. Joan was predeceased by beloved husbands George Jeffery (1980) and Peter Pick (2008). She is survived and loved by children Helen (Jim) and Philip (Linda), grandchildren Jeffery (Jenna), Kate (Noah) and William (Ally), and great-grandchildren Tristin, Austin, Declan, Hudson and Olivia, as well as by brother David (Elizabeth) and sister Lynn. She will be missed by stepchildren Michael, Alex (Ted) and John (Marita) and their children Connor, Leia, Charlotte, Jack, Alyssa, Helena and Griffin.

Joan was born in Plymouth, England and emigrated to Canada with George and children in 1965. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Oakville hospital and a family physician's office, and finally as a housemother in the boarding school at Havergal College.

After earning a BA in History at McMaster University in 1992, Joan volunteered for many years at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She is a past president of the Auxiliary, and proud recipient of the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award.

Cremation has taken place. At Joan's request there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations to the Oakville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
