Born in Sudbury, passed away peacefully in her own home at the age of 96 in the company of her immediate family.   Pre-deceased by her wonderful husband of 62 years, Steve Hango,   daughter Linda & son-in-law Peter Holowchuk, and brother-in-law Rod Scaife.  Survived by her devoted caregivers, daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Len Warrington; her 5 grandchildren Kyle (Gina), Melanie, Randy (Jacqui) Warrington, Stephen (Cheryl) Holowchuk and Leah Hopkinson; her 10 great grandchildren, Rachel, Liam, Owen, Alyssa (Eric), Logan, Lennox, Troy, Tiana, Paige, Hailey.  Will be deeply missed by her sisters Barbara Colangelo (Johnny), Shirley Scaife, and dear friend Ken Von Zuben.  Will be fondly remembered by friends of the Bronte and Burlington Legions and Hopedale Bowling League as a fun-loving, active member with a zest for life and lots of energy.

The family sends special thanks to friends and family who called and helped out, all the nurses and doctors at the OTMH who took good care of her during her two stays in March, and to the many LHIN and Acclaim Health staff and support workers who provided outstanding, amazing support and care the past few weeks.

Abiding by Covid restrictions and Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place, no funeral service will be held and her ashes will be scattered during a private family gathering. For those who wish, donations in memory of Joan to Acclaim Health or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 486 would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
