It is with broken hearts that we must announce that our beloved Jim has passed away after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. Jim was a man of dignity, integrity, high standards, loyalty and honour. He was a devoted husband to Vicki for 52 years. He was a loving and dedicated father to Pam (Rob) and Chris. He was an unequalled Papou to Owen and Hunter, who loved him more than anything in the world.

Jim was born in Detroit. Michigan, the oldest and only boy to Sophie and Gus Burbulis. He attended Michigan State University, majoring in Advertising and Marketing. After graduation, he worked in an advertising agency in Lansing, Michigan where he met the love of his life, Vicki, another MSU student. They married on October 6, 1973. Three years later, they moved to Toronto, where Jim worked for Simpson. Pam was born in 1980 and Chris in 1983. They spent most of their time raising their family in Oakville, Ontario, and had recently moved to Milton to be closer to Pam and Rob, their grandsons, Owen (17) and Hunter (14) and Chris, who lives in Mississauga. Jim's zest for life and creativity was what he was best known for, throughout his career and personal life. He cherished his family with a passion, and passed on his traits and core values as his legacy.

Visitation for Jim will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 1758 Matheson Blvd, Mississauga at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Jim's behalf to the Canadian Cancer Society.
