Obituary
Jeanne lived her life with an open heart and an unwavering dedication to acts of kindness. Whether it was with family, friends or complete strangers, Jeanne always found a way to roll up her sleeves and help those who were downtrodden or struggling. She had an unshakable belief in the power of kindness and selflessness, which left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sadly, on December 22, 2024, Jeanne left this world at the age of 87.
Born on April 8, 1937 in Chisholm County, Jeanne dedicated her life to service, both within her family and the community at large.
Jeanne was a devoted wife, cherished best friend and life partner to her husband, Robert (Bob)…they built their family together with lots of love, through all of life's laughter and tears. As a mother of five children, she was a constant source of strength, love and guidance, creating a warm and nurturing home where each of her children felt cherished. Her love extended to her nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, whom she adored with all her heart. She was proud of each of them, often sharing stories of their accomplishments with anyone who would listen.
In addition to her unwavering commitment to her family, Jeanne was a passionate volunteer, particularly for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Dr. Simone's Canadian Food for Children Program. She dedicated countless hours to helping those in need. Whether through church activities, community projects or lending a helping hand to friends and neighbours, she lived her life with a spirit of generosity and compassion. Her faith was her foundation, and she found peace and purpose in her devotion to The Lord. She was also a long time member of the Catholic Women's League.
She loved life's simple pleasures—reading, gardening, cooking and spending time in nature. She loved nothing more than family time, both near and far, on the phone and online, and a crowd of people around the dining room table, the air filled with boisterous laughter, tall tales and the delicious aroma of home-cooked meals.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Bob, her five children: Debra, Karen (Nick), Donna (Patrick), Robert (Jennifer), Christina (Michael), her nine grandchildren: Jasmine, Serena, Steve, Alexander, Juliana, Evan, Kiersten, Connor, Madelyn, and one great-grandchild, Ava.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Ulrick and Patricia Guillemette.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers and support during this difficult time. The visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor (64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville) on Wednesday, Jan. 1, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Mary Mother of God Parish (2745 North Ridge Trail, Oakville) on Thursday, January 2, at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Food for Children (www.canadianfoodforchildren.net).
Jeanne's legacy of love, kindness and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
