Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Tomkowski who died peacefully on January 31, 2022 at the age of 85. Jeanette, beloved wife of the late Richard Tomkowski.  Loving mother to Linda and her husband Ted, Lisa and her husband Steve & the late Laurie O'Brien and her husband John.  Devoted grandmother to Jennifer,  Sarah, Lauren, Ryan, Siobhan and Connor,  and great grandmother to Lauren and Zuriel. Dear Sister to Vivian and late husband Raymond, late brother Stan and his wife Bernice and late brother Joseph and his wife Mary. Cherished aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was born in Nadworna Poland, and at the age of two arrived in Halifax Nova Scotia, November 1938 aboard the Pilsucki. She spent her life in the greater Toronto area, moving  to Oakville in 2005. Jeanette's zest for life, passion for travel, love of her cottage on Balsam Lake and devotion to her family and friends will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville on Wednesday February 9, from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Due to COVID protocols, attendance for visitation is by appointment.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday February 10 at Saint Matthew Parish, 1150 Monk's Passage, Oakville at 11:30 am

Interment will follow the church service at Park Lawn Cemetery, 2845 Bloor St. W. Etobicoke.

Due to Covid restrictions a celebration of life is not possible at this time.

If desired, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada , The Canadian Cancer Society or the Oakville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
