With great sorrow, the family announces that Jean Anna Martz (nee Sitarski) passed away quietly on January 9, 2010 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Jean is the widow of Douglas Martz. She is pre-deceased by twin sister Josie Galezowski and is survived by two sisters (Julie Davis and Jennie Farkas), two brothers (Walter and Edward), 13 nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Jean resided in Oakville most of her life. She was an avid bridge player and her sociability helped to keep the whole family together. After suffering a stroke in December, her health declined rapidly. Her family would like to give special thanks for the attentive care provided by Dr. Martinovic and the other staff at the hospital.

Visitation will take place at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 16 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) Oakville, followed by a service at 10:15 a.m. in the chapel and then a buffet lunch. Afterwards there will be an interment at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at the funeral home.
