MacKINLAY: Jean Elizabeth
Passed away in the home she loved surrounded by her family that she lived for, on Monday, October 29th, 2007. Cherished wife of Bill, beloved mother of Leslie (Ken) and Lindsay (David) and loving Nana to Jackie, Alex, Courtney, Graeme and Lauren. Also survived by her brother Dr. Tom Beveridge (Jo) of Manitoba and many nieces and nephews in Scotland, Canada, England and
the U.S. Jean was born in Scotland where she trained as a nurse and worked as a district midwife and then a Sister-in-Charge in a major Thoracic Hospital before marrying and moving to Montreal. In Canada, she continued her nursing career but her primary focus was her family who benefited from her high energy, unconditional love, generous nature and great sense of fun. Jean was a long-time member of The Meadows Country Club in Florida and the Newcomers Golf Group at the Oakville Executive Club where she will also be missed by many friends. A service of thanksgiving will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:45 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation for Colorectal Cancer research would be much appreciated.
