In Loving Memory of Our Mum/Granna – Jean (Watters) Dwerryhouse

It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, Jean Dwerryhouse, on October 6, 2025, at the ripe age of 101.

Born on September 3, 1924, Jean lived through a century of extraordinary change and remained a loving presence and a radiant light through it all. A proud and dedicated registered nurse who specialized in pediatrics, she devoted her career to caring for others with warm strength, compassion, and respect — qualities that were seen by everyone who had the honour of knowing her. She was the proud wife of Kenneth Dwerryhouse for 57 years, from June 16, 1949 until he died in September of 2006.

She was the devoted mother of Pete, Pam, and Dee, and precious Granna to John, Kirsten, Christopher, Melanie, and Olivia. Her love for her family was at the very center of her life; she was the sun that kept us within each other's orbit. Her greatest joy was spending time surrounded by those she held dear, petting puppies, travelling, and appreciating the little things (chocolate, reading, and watching Little House on the Prairie).

Jean filled her life with things she felt grateful to enjoy: dancing, skating, tennis, tea parties with friends and family, playing piano, afternoons absorbed in her favorite books, and quality time during family cottage vacations by the lake, where laughter, stories, and campfires were enjoyed. Her gentle humour, quiet wisdom, and nurturing spirit made every gathering feel like home.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, grace and strength that lives on in all of us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of her remarkable life will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home – 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join us in honouring the incredible life she lived, followed by a short reception at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Carpenter Hospice in Burlington.

Thank you, Mum/Granna, for everything.
Your love and kindness will never fade.
Rest peacefully.
