Jason Aristides Mitakidis, born February 4, 1981, in Oakville [peacefully passed away on May 10, 2024 at the age of 43 in Oakville Hospital. He was the beloved son of Kathy and the Late Dimitrios Mitakidis, and a cherished younger brother to Tom. Jason is also survived by his aunt and cousins in Greece.

Jason was known for his caring nature, intelligence, and his pursuit of excellence in all aspects of life. He excelled academically attending Gladys Speers Public School, QE High School, McMaster University, Toronto University, and Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.

A successful entrepreneur, Jason was the proud founder and CEO of Cyclica in 2013, which in May of 2023 was acquired by Recursion.  In 2023 Jason  became the founder and CEO of a new company, HealthWorks Dx.  His dedication and leadership left a lasting impression on those around him.

Outside of his professional life, Jason had a lot of interests. Liked reading, researching, watching sports especially basketball, movies and found joy in cooking. He many times invited his family for dinner with delicious complicated recipes. As a young child Jason liked to draw especially trees, read and play baseball.

He was a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jason's memory may be made to Liver and Diabetes Research organizations.
