Passed away in her sleep at Wyndham Manor Nursing Home on June 10, 2013 in her 93rd year. Spirited and energetic, loving, kind, gentle and caring, she was beautiful and gracious till the end despite suffering Alzheimer's in her later years. She died the way she lived – peacefully. Beloved mother to Edward, John, and Mary Ann; mother-in-law to Barbara and Irene; adoring grandmother to David, Alicja, Mary, Gregory, Michael, Katherine, Mark, and Devin; great grandmother; devoted wife of the late Walter Podgorski and dear friend of many. She touched the lives of all she met with her grace, compassion, and equanimity. The family would like to thank Jill Gear and the staff at Wyndham Manor for the wonderful attention they gave to Janet. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville (1 block east of Kerr St., 905-844-2600) from 4-6pm and 7-9pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Funeral mass will take place 10am Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 231 Morden Rd., Oakville, followed by a reception in the church hall. All are welcome. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
