It is with peaceful hearts and much love we say good bye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Jane Louisa Anderson (née McNair), who quietly passed away with family at her side on August 25, 2026, at the age of 92. Jane will be forever remembered by her four children David (Heather), Keith (Valerie, spouse of 33 years), Janet-Lee (Mark) and Mary-Ellen (Michael). She was well loved by her grandchildren Amber (Greg), William (Chelly), Connor, Robin (David), Ian (Samantha), Myles (Chelsea), Kellyn, Jake (Emily), Julie, Natalie, Abbie and Zoë. She enjoyed seeing and hearing about her great grandchildren Ande, Gwen, and Garth, Asher and Owen, Felix, Rose and Crispin, Carmen, Mabel, Magnus and Veronica, and Sophie and Wyatt. Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Donald Anderson, her brother Keith McNair (Terry), twin sister Elizabeth Clark (Don) and her parents Thomas Gawn and Della Mae McNair. Jane will be missed by her many nieces and nephews as well as the Camp Illahee and Camp Huronda communities of the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s where she was affectionately known as “Auntie Jane.” Jane was born as “one of the McNair twins” in Toronto on May 12, 1934. She grew up in North Toronto, attended Lawrence Collegiate and then received her nursing designation from The Hospital for Sick Children School of Nursing where she began to hone her nurturing character from which we have all benefitted. She married Don in 1956 and lovingly raised her family in North York. Jane and Don enjoyed an active retirement in Alliston, making new friends and participating in many craft and bridge groups. After Don’s passing, Jane moved closer to family in Oakville. Jane always had a positive outlook on life, enjoyed a good laugh, was a great story teller and took much pleasure in learning, creating and teaching many types of traditional crafts over the years. She leaves behind many beautiful quilting, folk painting and needlework pieces for her family to cherish.

We are forever grateful for the staff at Post Inn Village who cared for our mom/grandma/great grandma with patience, dignity and kindness each and every day for the past nine years.

The family is planning a private celebration of Jane’s life at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations directed to The Willow Foundation at Post Inn Village.
