It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jan Dziamba, who passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 at the age of 91.
Jan was a dedicated husband to his loving wife, Stefania, and a devoted father to Grażyna, Anna (and her husband Czesław), and Mirosław (and his wife Anna). He was also the proud and joyful grandfather of Kristopher (and his wife Victoria), Julia, and Nina, and a doting great-grandfather to Charlie.
Born on October 3, 1934 in Bodaki, a small Łemko village in Poland, Jan was raised as the only son alongside his six sisters. Jan built his career as a civil engineer, was the first university graduate in his family, and a great inspiration for his relatives. In his sixties, he emigrated to Canada, where he found a welcoming home. A passionate craftsman and a dreamer, he spent his golden years designing and constructing bird houses and garden decorations.
Those who knew Jan will always remember his kindness, generosity, pride in his heritage, and love for his family.
A visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home in Oakville on September 7, 2026 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St Joseph’s Ukrainian Church in Oakville on September 8, 2026 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada in Jan's memory would be appreciated.
