Suddenly after a brief but valiant fight with cancer, on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, in his 82nd year. Jim, beloved husband of the late Margaret Slavin. Loved father of Richard and his wife Kathy, Tim and his wife Pam and Laurie and her husband John Mitchell. Dear grandfather of Heather, Cole, Katie, John James and Douglas. Cherished friend of Helena McDonald. Survived by his sister Norma Montpetit and brothers Pat and Bernie. Missed by his many friends from The Northridge Public Golf & Country Club in Brantford, The Oakville Hopedale Seniors Bowling League, The John Colbourne Seniors' Association and friends and neighbours at Rotary Gardens Oakville and The Oakville Lawn Bowling Club. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2008 at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville.
