James (Jim) Leiper Little, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2024. Evelyn Little (nee Gray), his wife of 68 years was at his side. Born on October 14, 1932 in Stonehaven Scotland, Jim emigrated to Canada in 1953 where he met Evelyn and raised a family in Toronto and Oakville. He was proud of his engineering technology degrees and used them throughout is long career working at Victory Soy Mills, Ford Motor Plant, Giffels, and Santa Clara Convention Centre. Once the children were on their own, Jim and Evelyn moved to California to enjoy the better weather and family connections. They returned to Oakville when he retired in 1997.
Jim was a well-known and appreciated 'handy man' always on call for many friends and family. He enjoyed his various volunteer roles including being a Big Brother, a Red Cross driver, steward at St Paul's United Church and repair person at Habitat for Humanity.
Jim/Dad/Papa/Great Papa will be missed by his wife Evelyn, daughters Barbara (Gary) Stone, Dawna (Ray) Ward, son Douglas (Laurie) Little, grandchildren Kevin Stone, Kerilee Stone, Spencer (Laura McKay) Sinclair, Hayden (Jacklyn Furlong) Ward and great grandchildren Maisie and Poppy Sinclair.
Thanks to support from Sunrise Senior Living and Acclaim Health for providing comfort in his last days. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favourite charity would be welcomed.
