KEELEY: James Allen
Aged 94, born July 12, 1912 in Hosmer, B.C. Died peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital February 22, 2007 with his eldest son Dan at his side after a courageous three week struggle, predeceased by his wife Mary Patricia (nee Mulligan) and his son William Thomas (Bill). Jim was the beloved and admired father to son Dan and his wife Luz-Mery Jacard, son Paul and his wife Pamela, daughter Liz and her husband Vince Filangi and three grandchildren—Jonathan, Marcus, and Adrian. Jim was raised in Shumacher Ontario the eldest of four sons—Bill, John, and Allan (Dan), all predeceased. He earned his mechanical engineering degree at Michigan Tech where he was also a blue ribbon cross country racer. Jim joined the Navy after Pearl Harbor and served as a leftenant for the war's duration. He was a project manager all over the world for various companies. It was a mark of personal pride that he finished every job on or before the completion date. Jim was a freedom loving non-conformist whose straight talk and distinctiveness of character was etched indelibly in the hearts of all who loved him. In Jim, God made a builder and a fixer. May He welcome him home forever. Visitation and funeral service will be held at Kopriva-Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) Oakville. The visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Monday February 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. followed by the wake at Jim's home.
