IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James D'Arcy
Fahey
April 14, 1927 – April 3, 2023
Jim passed away peacefully on April 3 at Nisbet Lodge in Toronto just short of his 96 th birthday. He was born on April 14, 1927 in Toronto, the son of James Vincent Fahey and Mary Estelle Fahey (nee Harrison). He is predeceased by his brothers Harrison and John and his sister Doris Morris. Jim is survived by his wife of 71 years Elizabeth (nee McCarthy), and their six children – Paul (Therese), Patrick (Gabrielle), Maureen (Don), Diane (Donald), John (Bernadette) and Kevin (Moira). Jim and Elizabeth were the proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren (Tim, Katie and Margaret Fahey, Warren and William Fahey, Jacqueline and Jennifer Langen, Jessie, Hannah and Jackson Speer, Dana Fahey, and Owen, Siobhan and Patrick Fahey). They welcomed a great-grandson Liam Fahey in 2019.
Jim grew up in The Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto and in Marysville Ontario. He attended Queen's University where he was a proud Electrical Engineering graduate. Jim spent his entire working career with Bell Canada in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At every step along the way, he was guided by his deep and enduring Catholic faith.
Jim will be very fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was never happier than when he was surrounded by his extended loving family. His warmth and good humour will be greatly missed as we recall so many beautiful memories including those at the family cottage on Bluewater Beach in Tiny.
Our family will welcome all who would like to attend Jim's visitations and Funeral Mass.
