It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Howard James Barker on August 24, 2017, aged 86.  Known as Jim by friends and family, he was born in a house on Navy Street in Oakville, Ontario.  As a boy, he grew up on his Grandma and Grandpa Ribble's farm and enjoyed his childhood there.  Jim was kind and caring and built many strong friendships throughout his life.  He liked to keep in touch with family and friends and would never forget to ask how they are doing.  He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed entertaining others with interesting conversation and jokes.  Some of our fondest memories are family get-togethers and the laughs we would share.  Even when he was feeling unwell, he never complained but was appreciative of all the help he received.  We love him very much and he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.  We look forward to seeing him soon when God will "swallow up death forever" and "wipe the tears from all faces." (Isa. 25:8).

Friends and family will be received at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd W., Oakville on Saturday September 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. for a memorial service. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
