On September 9, 2019, in his 85 ^th year, Jake went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family. Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mieke and his sister Nel de Boer. Loving father of Jakob (Bess de Boer) and Marieke (Kieran Murphy). Proud Opa of Hannah, Harry, Finlay and Oliver. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends in Canada, Holland and South Africa. He will be fondly remembered around the world for his formidable personality and charisma as a world-renowned television producer and a man of unshakable faith.

Thank you to all the staff at Grace Manor in Holland Christian Homes and to all the healthcare providers that took such great care of Jake during this journey. Per Jake's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday September 15, 2019 at Heritage Hall, Holland Christian Homes (entrance beside the Duca), 7900 McLaughlin Road, Brampton.

A reception will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Horizon Hall at Holland Christian Homes, located between King Tower and Peace Tower.

Should friends desire, a memorial donation may be made in Jake's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada .
