The Osika family is saddened to announce the passing of Jack Paul Osika, peacefully at his home at the age of 75 on Sunday July 20th, 2014. Jack can now rest in peace as he is reunited with his wife Lyn - the love of his life, his mental match and his compass. After leaving the Osika family farm in Theodore, Saskatchewan, he moved east enjoying escapades along the way. In 1967 he married Lyn Valerie Mulholland and together they settled in Oakville, Ontario raising their three daughters: Mary Isabel Duda (Stephen), Marsha Ann Russell (Jon) and Amy Jaclyn Hignett (Neil). After a 46-year career with Trimfit Company Inc, Jack retired as their Executive Vice President. His work at Trimfit allowed him to travel, partake in unique adventures and build lasting friendships. Jack possessed an exceptional capacity for hard work, matched only by his limitless generosity. Jack created "heaven on earth" at his Lake of Bays cottage and ensured his eight grandchildren had an idyllic place to run free. His true joy came from spending time with his ever growing tribe. Jack never missed an opportunity to love, listen to and spoil his grandchildren: Jacob, Owen and Kyle; Abby, Will and Lilly; Ben and Chloe. Mary, Marsha and Amy will forever be indebted to their Dad for his inspiring model of unconditional love and infinite support. Jack is the oldest son of the late Frank and Annie Osika. His seven brothers (Blanche, Edward, Julian, Jerry, Ray, Franklin, Leon ) and his cherished sister Angeline will miss him greatly. Jack will be remembered dearly by his many nieces and nephews and long-time friends. A funeral service will be held at St. Cuthbert's Church, Oakville on Friday, July 25th at 1:30 pm, followed by burial at Parklawn Cemetery. All are welcome to join us for a celebration of Jack's well-lived life from 5:00 pm on at Season's Restaurant, Oakville. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the dialysis centre at The Lions Camp Dorset www.lionscampdorset.on.ca/donations.
