Passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017 in her 92nd year. Ivy was born in Warwickshire, England and with her late husband Raymond, made Canada her home in 1955. Ivy was a long time resident of Oakville spending most of her working life as a registered nurse at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and later, active in various volunteer and horticultural organizations. Above all, Ivy was a loving and devoted mother whose memory will be cherished by her daughter Janet (Art) and three sons John (Mary-deceased)(Val), Martin (Karen) and Trevor (Marie-Josee); four grandchildren: Sean, Suzanne, Nicholas and Jessica and six great-grandchildren: Joshua, Dylan, Parker, Cooper, Kian and Lachlan. Thank you to the compassionate staff at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and for the gentle care Ivy received from the staff at the Kensington and her personal caregivers. A service will be held in the chapel at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr 905-844-2600) Oakville on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 1pm with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
