IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Iris Ruth
Witcher
August 27, 1929 – November 18, 2023
Our mom, Iris, passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in the early hours of November 18, 2023. Daughter of the late Herbert and Violet (Bateman) Baker of Lachine Quebec. Predeceased by her loving husband Reg (2007), cherished daughter Judith Robillard (2010) and sister Beverley Henriques (2021). Mom leaves behind a family that will miss her greatly and cherish her memory. Daughters Janice (Arden Cornford) and Joan (Paul Fratesi). Grandchildren Carolyn (Will Greaves), Allison Cornford, Graham (Megan) Cornford, Jonathon (Laura) Robillard, Andrea Robillard, Matthew (Julie) Fratesi, Luke Fratesi and Nicole Fratesi. She was the loving great-grandmother of Eleanor Greaves and Patrick and Ciaran Robillard. She will be sadly missed by her son-in-law Noel Robillard, her niece Karen Gervais and nephew Keith (Jackie) Henriques, and life-long friend Florrie Cribb.
Mom loved her family. She was a gentle soul who never complained. She followed our dad as he was transferred from Montreal to Sept Iles Quebec, Scarborough Ontario and finally to Oakville where they resided for 40 years. Mom was a talented knitter and sewed doll clothes, sweaters, clothing and Halloween costumes for her daughters and grandchildren. She was active at the Church of the Epiphany in Oakville where she belonged to the Quilting and Craft Group. She was happiest amongst her crafting friends spending hours preparing for the Christmas bazar.
Her memory loss in her last ten years meant a move to Appleby Place but she continued to enjoy visits from family and was much loved for her easy-going nature. We will all miss mom (Grandma Iris) but hope she has been reunited with Reg and Judy in some way.
We wish to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at Appleby Place who have been so kind to our mom over the years. Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held.
For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Church of the Epiphany Oakville.
