After a lengthy illness, died peacefully at Ian Anderson House, Oakville on February 12, 2017. She is survived by Bill, her devoted husband of 56 years. Sons, James and John (Joanne), sister Jean, cousin Lenore, nephews Ross (Cathy) and Glenn (Elizabeth), niece Kathy (Shar) and other loving relatives. Born in Vancouver and a graduate of the University of British Columbia, Irene loved people and touched many lives. An avid tennis fan and player, she enjoyed good conversation and good coffee and her ever present smile and sense of humour will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Rajagopal, Anna, and all the oncology nurses at Credit Valley Hospital. Dr. Benjamin, Malissa and all the nurses at Acclaim Health, Oakville and the nurses, staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House, Oakville. Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr 905-844-2600) Oakville, from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, 1541 Oakhill Drive, Oakville at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Ian Anderson House, Oakville.
