Obituary

Irene Alves Raposo passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 at the glorious age of 95 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Irene was born on September 6, 1930, in Arrifes, Ponta Delgada. She lived a long and meaningful life filled with love for her family and her strong faith in God.

She was predeceased by her husband Manuel Cordeiro Raposo, whom she has now reunited with along with her loved ones. She was the proud and loving mother of her children: Manuel Carlos, Maria Dos Anjos (Noe), and Tobias (Debbie). She was the greatest vavô to her grandchildren: Chyanne (Peter), Carlos (Danielle), Natercia (Nuno), and Cooper. She is lovingly remembered by her four great- grandchildren: Hendrix, Teagan, Quinn, and Autumn. She is preceded in death by her brother José Alves.Irene will be remembered for her strength, kindness, spirit and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to those who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.A very special thank you to the nurses and physicians at OTMH working in the Emergency Department, ICU, and Palliative Care Unit.
