It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Iolanda on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by family as she left this world at the age of 44.

She has gone to be with her father, Leonardo, and other family members that have been waiting for her. Beloved daughter of Lidia DiRisio, Iolanda will remain forever in her mother's heart. She was a wonderful aunt to Nathan and Lucas DiRisio. Loved by her brother, Paul, and sister-in-law Melissa, Iolanda will stay in their memory as the beautiful spirit who spent time with them, smiling and joking. Her aunt, Lily, is grateful for the lesson in courage Iolanda taught her as she fought her health battle so valiantly. She will be missed by her extended family which includes several aunts, uncles, and many cousins. They will remember her as the girl who loved music, dancing and travel. Her family takes comfort in the fact that Iolanda touched the lives of many friends who know her to be a kind and gentle person.

A life-long resident of Oakville, Iolanda graduated from Sheridan College and worked in the travel industry for many years. She loved her job and enjoyed the many travel opportunities she received through her work.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, April 7 ^th at 10 a.m. at St. James Parish (231 Morden Road, Oakville). The burial will follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville).
