On the morning of June 25, 2025 we said goodbye to our beautiful Ika. She was surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Petar, mama to Zrinjka (Paul) and Danny, proud Baba to Laura, Emily and William.

Survived by brother Josip (Manda), sisters Danica (Ivan) and Marinka (Veso). Predeceased by brothers Jure, Ante (Anica), and sisters Kajica (Braco), Franjka (Josip).

Loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada, Croatia, Europe and the United States.

Ika was born in Sveti Rok, Croatia and immigrated to Canada in 1967, married in 1972. She was a hard working business woman and loved people.  Her love for her whole family knew no bounds.  It was evident through every gesture, hug, kindness, and piece of advice that she gave, regardless of how old you were.

She leaves a legacy of love, faith and fortitude that lives on in all of us.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her and loved her.

Ghali for his care over decades - and the team at the pharmacy for their special care and attention-you treated her and us like family.  You genuinely made a positive difference. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Berlingieri, who she called her son, for all the care and respect he showed her for almost twenty years as his patient. Thank you to her cardiologist Dr. Doukanish.  Thank you to the mitral valve clip team at Hamilton General Hospital in particular to Dr. Mehta. A special thank you to the entire ICU team who cared for her in her final hours- in particular Dr. Khalifa, Dr. Lang, RT Tina, and nurses Leena and Rebecca. She saw your efforts and appreciated all you did for her in that short time, as do we.
