Ian died peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on 27 February 2010. Ian lived a rich and varied life. He grew up in England and immigrated to Canada with his wife Jean in 1953. He worked for de Havilland Aircraft and Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River, Mississauga and Bombay, India. Ian retired in 1981 to serve as a priest with the Anglican Church in the Niagara diocese. A 1993 stroke changed Ian's life, largely paralyzing his left side. But his adventurous spirit remained undeterred - he assisted at Oakville's Anglican Church of the Incarnation, painted at the Oakville Art Society, swam with the Strokers swim club and travelled widely. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will miss him deeply. Friends are invited to visit at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Wednesday, March 3rd, 7-9pm. Funeral service at Church of the Incarnation, 1240 Old Abbey Lane, Oakville, Thursday March 4, 2010 at 7:30pm. Memorial service to follow - contact Anglican Diocese of Niagara. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Anglican Church of the Incarnation, Oakville or the Oakville Hospital Foundation.
