On Monday December 19, 2022, Hyo-Jung Joo, unexpectedly passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Sang-Don Joo, and is survived by her adoring daughters, Judy and Cindy.

Hyo-Jung was born on November 5, 1947 in Gwangju, South Korea. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughters and built a life and loving home in Oakville, Ontario. She became a proud Canadian citizen and took great pride in raising two beautiful daughters.  She was very active in her Korean church community as an elder ("kwonsanim").

Late in life, Hyo-Jung enjoyed travelling and loved spending time with her fur-grandchild, Lola. Hyo-Jung will be greatly missed by her daughters, family, and friends.

Friends may call at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) on Friday, December 23, 2022 for visitation from 9 am to 11 am, with a service in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel to follow at 11 am. Interment and burial service will be held at Meadowvale Cemetery at approx. 1 pm.
