It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Humberto. He was a loving husband to Etelvina for an incredible 63 years; he was also a dedicated father to Herberto (Dorina), Fatima (Fernando), and Lina (Emanuel). Humberto embraced his role as a loving and nurturing grandfather to nine treasured grandchildren: Brady, Jamie (late), Michael, Rylee, Caitlyn, Justin, Alyssa, Matthew, and Christian. His affection and care enriched their lives, creating cherished memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. His love for them knew no bounds, and his presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy and warmth. Humberto also held the cherished title of great-grandfather to Amiylah Lynne, a testament to the enduring legacy of love and family that he leaves behind.
Humberto's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, including his siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. His presence was a blessing, not just within his immediate family, but also among his extended family and friends. His memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Humberto was born on the island of Faial, nestled in the Azores, Portugal, in March of 1934. In 1959, he embarked on a new chapter in his life, leaving his beloved homeland behind to start anew in Canada. Humberto radiated happiness wherever he went. His contagious personality lit up every room, infusing the atmosphere with laughter and joy. Known for his humor, he had a knack for playing jokes and ensuring everyone around him was having a good time. His dedication to creating moments of joy became a defining trait, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and smiles. Humberto's boundless spirit matched his immense kindness, turning him into more than just a presence, but a vibrant celebration of life itself.
Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home (64 Lakeshore Road W., Oakville) on Sunday, October 22nd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9. Funeral mass will be held Monday, October 23rd at 10 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church (231 Morden Road., Oakville). Interment to follow at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Reception at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home following the interment.
