Lt. Col. Retired (Militia)

Died peacefully Friday July 18, 2008 in his 87th year. Loving husband of Marianne (nee Marion Rourke). Dear father of Elaine Giles, Paul (Antonietta) and Sheila McKerrow (Andrew). Loving grandfather of Heather, Ian, Katherine, Isla, Madeleine, Emma, Sophia and Luke. Will be sadly missed by his brother Allan and his wife Anne and brother in law Malcolm Rourke and his wife Patience. Hilton was born in Florenceville, New Brunswick where he attended school there and in St. John, New Brunswick. He joined the RCAF as a radar mechanic in 1940 and was deployed to Great Britain from 1941-1945 in the RAF. Returning to Canada, Hilton attended the University of New Brunswick and was employed by Bell Canada for 31 years. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 7-9 pm Wednesday July 23, 2008. Funeral service 3:00 pm Thursday July 24, 2008 at Walton Memorial United Church, 2489 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. Private family internment. For those who wish, memorial contributions to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
