Helena
Gniazdz
January 15, 1943 – May 10, 2018
(Life-Long Loving Homemaker) Despite enduring a courageous battle, she passed away from complications of breast cancer at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville in her 75th year. She emigrated from Poland in 1963 and while here; she met and was courted by the love of her life. She was a beloved wife to Jan for 44 wonderful years, mother to daughters Susan (husband, Sarang) and Teresa (husband, Steven). She was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Derek, Mark, Ashley and Michelle. Her brothers Mieczyslaw, Waldemar & Bogdan and sister Teresa also survive Helena. Many will miss her. Her love for her family, intricate sewing and knitting projects, vacationing in the tropics and listening to musical artists such as Elvis Presley & Engelbert Humperdinck resonated with all of us. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 with prayer service at 6:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Polish Roman Catholic Church, 40 John Street, Oakville followed by the interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery, 1149 Dundas St. West., Oakville. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.
