Helen Ruth Routledge (n é e Hoare) – 1931-2022

Helen Ruth Routledge (née Hoare) died peacefully at the age of 90 in Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on June 21, 2022.  Helen is survived by her sons Kevin (and spouse Carolyn), Paul and Bruce (and spouse Carolyn) Routledge, her grandchildren Megan (and spouse Chris) Silver, Bethany (and spouse Eli) Yon, and Isobel Routledge, her great-grandchildren Maxwell and Gabriella Silver and Phoenix and Lennon Yon, and her sister Jean Scheel and brother Robert Orr.  In death, she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Harland Earl Routledge (deceased 2001).  Helen was born November 5, 1931 in Kitchener Ontario and completed her nurse's training at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital followed by post-graduate training at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.  Helen worked for over 30 years as a paediatric nurse at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.  For over 50 years Helen was a faithful and dedicated member of the Oakville Church of the Nazarene, serving in many capacities from Sunday school teacher to president of the mission society.  She was also a dedicated member of the Oakville Mall Walkers for some 25 years. Strong in Christian faith and love, generous in spirit and accepting of all, she will be dearly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation is from 6-9 PM on Monday June 27, 2022 at Oakville Generations Church of the Nazarene (110-418 Iroquois Shore Road Oakville, ON, Canada L6H1M3) and a memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday 28 June, 2022 at Oakville Generations Church of the Nazarene (110-418 Iroquois Shore Road Oakville, ON, Canada L6H1M3).  Donations in Helen's memory can be made to the Oakville Generations Church of the Nazarene and the Canadian Cancer Society.
