It is with great sadness that the family of Helen June Mayne announce her passing on 7 August 2022. Helen was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, sister and nana. Predeceased by her husband Richard and loved by her brothers John (Fran) and Peter (Gillian) Stephenson as well as many family and friends in England and Australia. Helen also will be greatly missed by her children, Alyson Mayne, Michael Mayne (Karen), Susan Nakamura (Geoff) and Richard Oliver Mayne (Tara), along with her grandchildren, Kyla, Stephanie, Mitchell, Matthew, and Daniel. Helen lived a full and happy life. Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, on a beautiful summers day in 19@# (she would never quite pin that one down). Helen was a passionate and skilled swimmer who taught many people how to keep their heads above water as an instructor and teacher for the Halton Board of Education until her retirement. Always one to offer an opinion, her guidance to her children and the loving way she spoiled her grandchildren as a traditional British Nana, will leave a void for all those who cared for and loved her. Helen and Richard were an incredible team and were wonderful role models to their children. The memories and love that they created for their kids and grandchildren will be cherished always. A private family celebration of life was held at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home on 31 August 2022. In lieu of flowers, those who would like to commemorate Helen's remarkable life are asked to make contributions to the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation .
