Obituary

Passed peacefully in his sleep on November 9, 2025 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.  He was born to Annie Quinn January 17, 1931. Loving husband of Elizabeth (Krasta) for over 71 years.  Harold was orphaned at the young age of 12.   An only child, he grew his family to include eight children:  Michael (Denyse), Stephen (Ruby), Karen (Roy Gringmuth), Lorraine (late Jim Kerr), Catherine (Joe Mullins), David, Robert (Kellie-Anne), Jennifer (late Joe Dias).  He was "Papa" to 16 grandchildren who were his great pride:  Matthew Quinn, Owen Quinn, Jamie-Leigh (Teo Odorico), Scott Gringmuth (Kandice), Katie (Josh Morton), Taralyn Kerr, Quinn Kerr, Daniel Mullins (Natalie), Ryan Mullins, Taylor Quinn, Carter Quinn, Carson Harold Quinn, Landon Quinn, Nicholas Dias, Jordan Dias, and Olivia Dias. He had great joy in meeting his  4 great-grandchildren:  Charles and Molly Gringmuth, Jack Morton, and Mackenzie Mullins.

Harold lived his entire life in Oakville, born into the Quinn Family whose roots can be traced back to 1850's Oakville.  He attended the original St. Mary School and St. Andrew's Church and, at an early age, worked at the Oakville Basket Factory.  In his teens, he attended OTHS, then on to Central Tech and Ryerson in Toronto to earn his way into an electrical apprenticeship program. He was hired by Brown Electric in Oakville where he spent over 25 years.  Then, with his business partner Sid Wilson, started Quinn & Wilson Electric, working at many local industries throughout town. He retired at 63 years of age.

He enjoyed retirement and family time at the cottage, which he designed and built on Little Kennisis Lake. Fishing was his passion, and he'd find any opportunity to spend a day walking the edge of rivers and streams in pursuit of the big catch.  Fishing trips with his sons and sons-in-law were an adventure where he thoughtfully planned every detail. He kept his sense of humour until the end with his 'one liners'.

We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and entire staff at OTMH 3 South for their exceptional, compassionate care.

Dad, Papa, we will always be with you, and you will always be with us!
