It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Gregory (Greg) Podgorski on August 11, 2015 after a bitter struggle with cancer. Greg was a compassionate son, a loving brother, and a devoted and loyal friend. We will all miss his kind heart, his piercing intellect and his rich laugh. He is survived by his parents, Barbara and Edward, his brother, David (Rezan) and his sister Alicja. He is predeceased by his sister, Mary and beloved dog, Jake. Greg graduated from Saint Michael's Choir School in 2003 and McMaster University in 2007. He went on to a successful career at Ford Motor Company and Toronto Dominion Bank. A true Renaissance man, Greg was a talented musician, singer and chorister, (a member of the Seraphim Men's Chorus) and had a deep appreciation for world history, classical music and the plays of William Shakespeare. Greg had a deep affection for his family and friends and celebrated all of their successes, joys and sorrows with them. He will be remembered as the life of every party, the funniest man in every room and the most fiercely intelligent person any of us has ever met. We are saddened by the knowledge that he left us all far too soon. Greg's family and friends take great comfort in knowing that in his last year and final days, he received exceptional and compassionate care from all the physicians, nurses and staff at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. We wish to extend a special thank you to Greg's oncologist, Dr. Michael Crump, and his palliative care physician, Dr. Lynne Benjamin.

Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015. Funeral Mass will take place 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville.
